Getting to know the artist Hans Kuhn and falling in love with Italy formed two key experiences for Aenne Burda. They awakened her great passion for painting, which continued throughout her life and occupied her even more intensively after she finally retired from publishing. In the summer of 2004 she declared "I have learned to grow old with a young heart, thus retaining my enjoyment of life, my joie de vivre"!
